Barbara Catherine Dufrane's Obituary
Dufrane, Barbara Catherine Cejka passed away February 16, 2012 at her home in Richardson, Texas after a brief illness. She was 78 years old. Mrs. Dufrane was born October 13, 1933 in New Bedford, Massachusetts and resided most of her life in Fairhaven, MA. She was a devoted mother to her three children. Barbara was the daughter of George and Helen Cejka, of New Bedford. She was married to Chester G. Dufrane, also from New Bedford. She was sister to the late Leonard Cejka and the late Arnold Cejka. She is survived by her brother, Rodney Cejka, her three children, Chet Dufrane, Sheryl Dufrane and Brian Dufrane as well as her four grandchildren, Mark Dufrane, Mary Dufrane, Hunter Dufrane and Amy Dufrane. She retired from New England Telephone Company after a life-long career serving as one of the first female managers at the Company. Barbara excelled in academics demonstrated by two double promotions during her education tenure. She was president of her graduating class at New Bedford Vocational High as well as class valedictorian. She enjoyed many hobbies over the years, but was known especially for her cooking and expert gardening. She will be honored with a private service at Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven, MA.
