Barbara Mueller Hines' Obituary
Barbara Mueller Hines, 94, of Plano, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 6th at Brookdale Creekside in Plano.
Barbara was born in Sparta, Illinois on June 14, 1929 to William Harper McDill and Mabel Montgomery McDill. She graduated from Sparta High School.
After high school she began work as a bank teller and soon after, she met a handsome young man who came in to cash his paycheck. On January 22, 1949 Barbara married that man, Richard (Dick) Mueller of Osawatomie, Kansas. The couple began life together traveling across the country as Dick installed gas pipelines for a growing post-war America. Eventually they landed in Richardson, Texas, and later Plano, Texas and raised their family there.
Barbara worked at Kitchen Vent in Plano for many years. Later, she became an accomplished legal transcriptionist. Barbara loved to cook, sew, read, and travel, but her real joy and passion came from hosting family gatherings and preparing delicious meals. Her holiday celebrations, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, were wonderful times for everyone she loved.
She and Richard briefly lived in Pearland, Texas. In 1983 Richard passed away and Barbara moved back to Richardson to be near those she loved. It was there that Barbara renewed her friendship with a former neighbor and on March 23, 1986, she and Royal Hines were married. Roy and Barbara spent many happy years in retirement together and she enjoyed having an even bigger family to welcome to her family gatherings. Barbara was a member of Richardson Chapter #921, Order of the Eastern Star.
Barbara was an only child. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, Richard and Roy, her only daughter, Becky Mueller Anselmo and step daughter Sherry Hines. Barbara leaves behind three sons, Mike (Margot) Mueller, Steve (Jean) Mueller, Danny (Diane) Mueller and stepson
Corbin (Natalie) Hines. Also surviving her are 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special niece, Barbara Jean Kanosky of Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
A private family service will be held at Restland Mausoleum and Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, where Barbara will be interred next to her first husband, Richard. Those wishing to remember Barbara may make a donation to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas, Patriot Paws in Rockwall, Texas, or their favorite charity.
