Barbara Tighe Holladay's Obituary
BARBARA TIGHE HOLLADAY passed away peacefully on February 7, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. Barbara was born on November 5, 1932, in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late John Raymond Tighe and Ellen Smith Tighe. Barbara graduated from Woodbury High School, married Modrell "Doc" H. Holladay and raised her family in Wenonah, New Jersey until 1976, when the family relocated to Taylor Lake Village Texas. After Doc's death, she eventually moved to Dallas, Texas to be closer to family.
Barbara worked a number of years for Texaco and DuPonte, making many friends along the way. She loved traveling, spending time at the beach with family, cuddling with dogs, visiting with friends and relatives, making others laugh, and practicing her faith and serving others through St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. Those who knew and loved her have many fond memories to cherish.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doc, her brother, John Raymond Tighe, her niece, Susan Tighe and her sister-in-law and brother in-law, Warrene and Chester Wells.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her children, Alison and her husband Richard, Brian and his wife Barbara, and Sharon and her husband Michael; and her much-loved grandchildren, Richard "Buddy" and his wife Marjorie; Stephanie and her husband Eric; Ryan and his wife Kyra; Jack; Paul, Samantha and Matthew. Also surviving are her nephew, James Tighe, niece, Margaret Tighe and in-laws Shirley and Marion Bufkin and Fonda Holladay
Arrangements are pending. Barbara's final resting place will be next to her husband in Dickinson, Texas.
