Barbara Ann Horner's Obituary
Barbara Ann Horner was born June 1, 1951 and passed away at home July 8, 2022. Barbara graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Texas and then pursued a degree in education at Howard Payne University. While at Howard Payne she met Garey Horner, and the two married on May 28, 1971. Soon after, they moved to Commerce, TX where Barbara finished her Bachelor degree in education from what is now Texas A&M Commerce. She would later obtain her Masters degree in education from A&M Commerce. The pair ultimately moved to Waxahachie, where Barbara enjoyed teaching 1st and 2nd grade for over 40 years in schools across Waxahachie ISD, and Ennis ISD. She retired from Bowie Elementary in Ennis, TX . Barbara was an avid crafter who used her skills to take her classroom decorations to the next level much to the delight of her students throughout the years. She was a member at the Dallas Athletic Club where she enjoyed participating in book club,as well as various card games. She was also a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband Garey Horner and parents Troy and Carrie Williams. She is survived by sister Susie Schillerstrom and brother-in-law David of Garland, TX. Her brother Scott Williams and sister-in-law Leigh of Dallas, TX. Nephew Jeff Williams of Dallas, TX and niece Shelby Schillerstrom of Denver, CO.
Barbara will be laid to rest Wednesday, July 27,2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date with details to follow.

Please mail donations to Bowie Elementary Library, ATTN: Sheila Davis, 501 Jeter Dr. Ennis, TX 75119. Make checks payable to Bowie Elementary Library and include Barbara Horner Memorial in the memo. Checks should also include date of birth, and drivers license number per Ennis ISD policy. If you would like to donate for a specific title please include that in the memo as well.
