Barbara King's Obituary
Barbara Barrow King of 5K Ranch, Pilot Point, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. She was the daughter of Marshall Lyle and Mary Phereby Veazey Barrow and was born on May 24, 1926 in Martindale, Caldwell County, Texas. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Burnside King, III and daughter Barbara Lee King Barker. She also had three sisters, several cousins and nieces and a nephew who passed away previously.
Before she became unable to get around as well as she would like, she enjoyed working in her yard and garden and having family and friends come to visit. A few years after her husband’s death in 2002, she joined a Red Hat Society group and spent time with that group of wonderful, fun, caring ladies. Also, she loved having many dogs and cats through the years who meant a lot in her enjoyment of life.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Dr. James Burnside King, IV and Dr. Stephen Marshall King (Mary Mitchell); seven grandchildren, Randy Barker (Stacy), Daniel Barker, James King, V (Davis), Philip King (Andrea), Stephanie Brimhall (David), Melissa McDowell (Nathan) and Mitchell King (Erin); and last but not least, nine great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Erica and Keith Barker, Adalynn and River King, Ethan and June Brimhall and Will and Molly McDowell. Quite a group! Each one is very special.
Funeral arrangements for Barbara King have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
