Barbara A. Kordus' Obituary
KORDUS, BARBARA A., born June 23, 1942 in Abilene, TX and passed away December 20, 2006 in Dallas. Service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 26th at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Preceded in death by her parents, Will Edward & Minnie Rose Hendrick. Survived by husband, Richard Frank (Dick) Kordus; daughters, Kelly Kaye Morris & husband Billy, Karen Kathleen Holt & husband James; brothers, Terry Alan Hendrick and Gary Duane Hendrick; grandchildren, Toni Renee Rister, Justin Lee and Cody James Holt, and Brittney Nicole Bell; aunt, Frances Vaughn; and sons-in-law, Billy J. Morris and James C. Holt. “Babs” worked at TI/Raytheon for 33 years in the purchasing department. She trained many of today’s purchasing employees and was the recipient of countless excellence awards. Barbara took very good care of all her family’s needs during her 43 years of marriage. Her most important time of the year was Christmas Eve with all her family present, and she made sure there were lots of gifts for all under the tree. She enjoyed watching everyone open their gifts first, then she opened her gifts last. Barbara arranged many vacation trips for her family; including two cruises with husband Dick, a trip to Disney World in Florida for the grandchildren, and a weeks trip to Colorado for the grandchildren. Her last trip was a weeks’ stay in Washington DC-an early 70th birthday gift for husband Dick. This year’s Christmas Eve, and all future Christmas Eves, will never be the same again. A grand lady, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many of us will be severely missed. May you rest in Heaven peacefully and eternally. From your loving family, friends, and coworkers. Your loving partner-in-life, Dick.
