Barbara Mae Latimer's Obituary
Barbara (96) of Dallas, Tx was born Barbara Mae Hargreaves on July 15, 1927 in Lincoln RI to William and Mable Hargreaves. She went to her permanent home in Heaven on May 27, 2024.
Barbara graduated from East Senior High School (Ra Ra Ra) in Pawtucket, RI on and earned an accounting degree from Bryant University. Barbara married William (Bill) Latimer on May 21, 1949 after which they traveled the country looking for the place they would live and raise a family. They found Dallas, Texas to be a nice town and eventually settled in the Lake Highlands area.
Barbara had a passion for living, learning, a contagious laugh, and a deep love for her family . She loved horse racing, playing the stock market, and researching her genealogy. She found she is related to a wide variety of historical people in the United States and a number of nobilities in England. Some include the owner of the Mayflower, a passenger on the Mayflower, and an Indian who met the people of the Mayflower. She is also related to the Royal family of England and the soldier who guarded George Washington during the Revolutionary War. This allowed her to proudly join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Later in life she began writing, which led to her award-winning short story "Windows of my Life". It is a beautiful story of life as seen through the windows of time.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mable and her husband, Bill.
She is survived by her children, Bruce (Jennifer), Doug (Gail), and Karen; her grandchildren Daniel (Lori), Laura (Jacob), Heather (Michael), Colin (Autumn), and Amelia; her great grandchildren Noah, Riley, Magnus, Cypher, Forge, Leo, and Benjamin; her nieces Judy, Debbie, and Susan (Glenn), Sheryl (Todd) and her nephew David.
