Barbara Crews Lowe's Obituary
Barbara Berry Crews Lowe was born on December 21, 1925 and passed into the arms of the Lord on October 20, 2018. She was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma to her parents, William L. Berry and Minnie L. O’Neal. Barbara Lowe lost her father at the early age of nine and she and her mother lived with relatives finally settling in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. After graduating from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma her road to independence began. She took a bus and moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma Baptist University. She had no financial support available, so she held several jobs as she worked her way through college. Barbara met the love of her life, Russell Ray Crews, at Oklahoma Baptist University and they married November 16, 1947. Ray and Barbara returned to Tulsa, Oklahoma until they moved to the Dallas area as part to the Sun Oil migration to Texas.Barbara and Ray had two sons, John Russell Crews and Joe Ray Crews. Barbara was an active and engaged mother and homemaker during her early years of marriage. Her family was her priority and she spent countless hours at PTA meetings, swimming lessons, football and baseball practices and games, and numerous family events. Barbara began a new career later in life working as a nurse in hospital icu units. Barbara was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Richardson and ultimately became a Deacon of the church. She loved the worship and ministry opportunities of being a member of the Goldenaires choir. After the death of her first husband, she remarried an acquaintance from Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 1, 1990.Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Berry, as well as her sisters Mattie, Edna and Letha, and her brothers Demma, Robert and Lee, and her husband Russell Ray Crews and her husband Ken Lowe. Barbara is survived by her two sons and their wives Leigh and Malinda, and nine grandchildren, Adam, Ryan, Katie, Stephanie, Racheal, Grace, Spencer, Emily and Lillian and two great grandchildren, Samuel and Silas Hampton.Barbara will have a funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 at First Baptist Church Richardson and a graveside service and be burial at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 1:00pm.Funeral arrangements for Barbara O’Neal Lowe have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
