Barbara Jean Nixon's Obituary
Barbara Jean Vinson Nixon was born November 3, 1930, in Ozark, Arkansas to Ellen and Relis Vinson. She was one of four children. On July 8, 1949, she wed Vern Nixon and was married 50 years.
She was a real estate sales agent and broker for many enjoyable years in Garland, Texas. She was a charter member of St. Philip’s United Methodist Church in Garland. Her many interests included painting, quilting, antiquing, gardening and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with friends visiting and playing games. Throughout her life she was very active in numerous organizations and volunteered in countless capacities.
Barbara died peacefully on February 27, 2023. She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen (of Garland) and sisters, Betty (of Florida) and Mary (of Arkansas). Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, parents, brother, Buford and in-laws.
