Barbara Barron Price's Obituary
Barbara Ann Barron Price was born Sep. 2, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas and after a beautiful and full life, passed away Feb 2, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas and attended North Texas State University. She married Donald Craig Price, her high school sweetheart on April 3, 1958. Barbara and Don were married 57 years.
Barbara was active in the community and served as PTA president and was a lifetime member of the PTA and a Girl Scout leader. Barbara raised four children and actively participated in their daily school, sports, dance, and band activities. She enjoyed playing in the neighborhood Bridge and Bunco groups, making lifelong friendships. She valued her many close friendships over the years. She was a proud Neighborhood Watch volunteer and took shifts driving the neighborhood helping to make it safer for the families that lived there. In later years, she worked for Mony Financial and for Ken Worden Insurance Services in Richardson. Barbara enjoyed traveling with Don to England, Germany, Hawaii, Branson, MO, and many other locations. She also loved spending a long weekend at the lake with friends. She enjoyed watching her grandkids take part in dance, drill team, sports and band activities. Some days she and Don would watch three or more events in one day, rain or shine, in cold or hot weather. She especially loved watching parades in which the grandkids participated. She loved supporting her grandkids and did so at every opportunity.
Barbara is survived by her children, Donald Craig Price Jr., Susan Price Hartshorne (Jeff), and Karen Price Wheeler; her grandchildren, Lindsey Kay Price, Hayden Christopher Price (Courtney), Mitchell Christopher Hartshorne, Stephanie Hartshorne Rodgers (Tim), Matthew Lee Hartshorne, Karli Kristine Wheeler, and Cody Price Wheeler (Brennan). She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Craig Price Sr, her parents, James Maurice Barron, Clemmie Ruth Barron and her beloved son, Christopher Stephen Price.
Visitation will be Monday February 5, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243, followed by a memorial service on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at Restland Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with burial immediately following.
