Mrs. Barbara Ann Russell of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away quietly on Wednesday August 29, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She celebrated 81 years of life.Barbara Ann (Thierse) Russell was born in Los Angeles, California on June 28, 1935 to parents Earl Maurice and Betty Anne (Boggs) Thierse. On September 28, 1957, she married the love of her life Jerry L. Russell, who preceded her in death in 1994. Barbara was highly involved in the PTA in the Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District from the late 1960’s through the 1970’s. For her dedicated service to education excellence, she was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the Texas State PTA.Barbara is survived by her son Patrick Russell and wife Lana (Lewis) Russell of Sanger Tx., daughter Thieresa Ann (Russell) Farmer and husband Sidney A. Farmer of Commerce Tx., grandchildren Laci (Russell) Strange and husband Shawn M. Strange of Sanger Tx., Jerry A Farmer and wife Melinda Hatfield of Sulphur Springs Tx., Matthew Russell of Sanger Tx., and Jason Farmer of Commerce TX. Also surviving are 4 great-grandchildren, extended family, and lots of loving friends and neighbors.Services will be held on Monday, September 3, 2018, at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas Texas. Viewing will be at 9:00am followed by services at 10:00am.
