Barbara Ann Sendker's Obituary
Barbara Ann Sendker, a long time resident of Dallas, passed away Saturday, March 5 following a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her family, as well as the countless friends, neighbors and colleagues that always brought a smile to her face. Born March 21, 1942 in Buffalo, New York Barbara attained her associates degree in nursing and worked in the operating room at E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital in Buffalo. She brought her love of medicine, and of helping others to Dallas in 1968, and most recently worked as a Medical Coordinator in the office of Dr. Stephen Curtis at the Carrell Clinic in Dallas. While advancing her career in the medical field, Barbara also gave of herself by serving as a Den Mother to the Cub Scout Troop at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, as well as being an active member of the St Thomas Our Ladies Altar Society. She gave back to her community by serving as a youth soccer referee for many years. Upon her retirement she stayed active by volunteering at the George Bush Presidential Library, at Dallas Love Field, distributing Meals on Wheels, as well as within the Dallas Arts District at both the Winspear Opera House and the Wiley Theater. When she wasn’t volunteering, she liked to challenge her neighbors to bicycle races both to and around White Rock Lake, as well as one of her sons to races around the block, and even one ski hill in Alaska. Barbara enjoyed socializing and hosting family and friends, she kept a warm and inviting home and always took care of her guests as though they were family, when you were around her you were wanting for nothing. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Gerard (Jerry), sons Brian and Kevin and his wife Jan, all of Dallas. She is also survived by her loving brother Thomas Revenant and his wife Paula of Buffalo, New York. Services to be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 6306 Kenwood Ave., Dallas, TX 75214 at noon, Thursday, March 10th, 2016. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
