Barbara Ann Short's Obituary
Barbara Ann Short, age 83, passed away peacefully at 2:05 PM on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was born in Dallas, Texas on May 2, 1935, to her loving parents Raymond Ray Short and Annie Maye Broyles. Barbara was a military wife for 14 years, then a banquet manager, travel agent and homemaker. She loved playing cards with her family, dominoes with her friends and sharing a monthly lunch with her childhood friends at Highland Park Cafeteria. Dogs both stuffed and living provided her companionship and comfort throughout her life. Her purse always carried chocolates so she could satisfy that craving at any time. And she was proud to be a native Dallasite.She is survived by her daughter Katherine Stenzel and her husband, Geoff; daughter Debora Hester; daughter Julie Anschutz and her husband John; grandchildren Matthew Hester, Amanda Furlong, Marshall Anschutz and Steven Anschutz; great-grandchildren Abigail Anschutz, Ezekiel Anschutz and Zoelle Anschutz; and nephews Alan Short and Ray Short.She was preceded in death by her loving brother Willie Ray Short, who died on the exact same day three years ago.A service for Miss Barbara Ann Short will be held Monday, June 25, 2018, at 12:30 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Cemetery.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243 and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
