Barbara Ann Robertson StephensSeptember 22, 1943 – August 21, 2019 – Dallas, TexasBarbara Ann Robertson Stephens, age 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 21, 2019, after a three-year battle with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother; adoring big sister; cherished cousin and dedicated friend. Her skills on the golf course were only rivaled by the delicious dishes and baked goods from her kitchen. She was born on September 22, 1943, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Iva Ora Adams and Benjamin Elmo Robertson. She is preceded in death by both of her parents.Barbara was raised in Lynchburg but spent many weekends and holidays down in the country where both her parents’ extended families and many cousins lived. She graduated from Brookville High School in 1961. Afterwards attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.In 1963, Barbara began dating a young man who was formerly her neighbor and often referred to her as “the kid” as she was six years his junior. Now adults, Barbara and Sidney B. Stephens, Jr., were married on December 13, 1963. They had two children: Keith and Natalie. The family later moved to Dallas in 1973. Barbara and Sid were married for 53 wonderful years. Barbara is preceded in death by her sweetheart and golf partner Sid who passed away in 2017. They travelled the world together for Sid’s work and their golfing vacations.
