Barbara Ann Venable's Obituary
Barbara Ann Venable was born December 13, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away July 15 2018 in Plano, Texas. She was 80 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Juanita Woolsey. Barbara is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bobby Venable, of Garland; her brother, Byron Woolsey, also of Garland; her sons Chuck of Little Elm, Steve of Waco, and Chris of Mesquite. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of friends. Barbara has always been known as a beloved wife and mother. She has been a member of Axe Memorial United Methodist Church in Garland, Texas for 51 years. Barbara was well known for her wood working and quilting skills which she employed in her service to others. Most notably was her time spent quilting more than 500 baby quilts for the Friendship House. Visitation will be Thursday July 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas. A service to celebrate Barbara’s life and legacy will be held at Axe Memorial United Methodist Church, 1700 W. Kingsley Rd., Garland, Texas 75041 at 10:00 am Friday July 20, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Axe Memorial United Methodist Church.
