Barbara Wallace's Obituary
Barbara Cox Wallace, at the age 89 passed peacefully on Friday December 17th, 2021 in Dallas Texas with her loving family by her side.
Barbara was born on February 3rd 1932, in De Queen, Arkansas. She was orphaned at the age of three and was raised by Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles.
Barbara was living in Ardmore, Oklahoma when she met, fell in love, and married her loving husband John R Wallace, a pilot in the US Airforce. Shortly after their loving union on December 6th 1955, produced two children, John Richard Wallace Jr. born in May 1957 and Janet Renee Wallace born in July 1961.
Barbara, her husband “Wally”, and new born son moved to Iowa City where her selfless love committed to support her husband with his graduate in doctorate of Dentistry in 1965 from University of Iowa. In 1968 the family relocated to the Richardson and Dallas area.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Janet Renee Craig, her husband of 63 years Dr. John Richard Wallace, she is survived by her Son John “Richard” Wallace Jr. and his wife Kimberly Wallace, granddaughters Nicole “Nikki” Craig, Amanda Wallace her husband Robert Olivarez and grandson Justin Wallace his wife Nuha Kadri, and great grandchildren Savannah Olivarez, and twins Kaia and Cayden Olivarez.
Barbara was a strong woman both in person, faith, and her love of her family. She survived a broken heart with the loss of her beloved daughter, Janet, and Barbara’s numerous personal medical challenges. She will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 3, 2022 at the Restland Memorial Park.
