We have known Barb and Lou for 40 years (since 1976) when we came to Dallas and joined Probe Ministries. We shared life together. We both had 3 children, and both of our two daughters were born at the same time. The kids went to some of the same schools and did many activities together. There were many fun Probe retreats, get togethers, and family meals with the families that brought us together as well. Barb and I have been close friends for all of these years. We had many lunches together for birthdays, Christmas, etc. She told me about Mary Kay Cosmetics and we worked together in that business. My daughter, Amy, has now been in Mary Kay for 11 years, and it was all started years ago because of Barb. Barb greatly loved her parents, brother, husband and children and there was nothing more important in her life than her family. That was her love, life and focus. No one loved their family more than Barb. She also had the gift of evangelism and would share her faith with everyone who had contact with her. In the last several years, as caregivers were in an out of their home, Barb shared the gospel with each one, and then as she went to the nursing home, and different hospital stays, she shared with each one there. God used her mightily here on this earth. She has a great reward in heaven for all that she did to serve Christ and His Kingdom. We look forward to the day that we will see Barb again in heaven and be together forever. We are thankful that Barb is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that she is whole, healed, and perfect in His Sight. Until we meet in heaven, we love you and will miss you greatly, Barb! A brighter star is in the heavens today as Barb Whitworth as the Lord Jesus has called her home. He has prepared one of his many mansions for her. An emptiness is felt in our hearts but we do not grieve as those "who have no hope". One day, we shall behold him and be reconciled to those we love and miss.
Lou, I heard about Barb. I am in grief with you. I'll be writing you at length later, as I have many good memories. Praying for you and the kids and family. "Oh, God, help." God is there, never leaving you nor forsaking you. HE KNOWS. Fernando Ortega was just singing, "Just Give Me Jesus." Much love, joan luck
