My dear sweet Barbara was so dear to me. We went to grade school and high school together. We lived two houses apart. She was at my house or I was at her house. I would get her to stop at my house after walking home from school by offering to fix us some food and that would always do the trick. We would go swimming nearly everyday in the summer at Lake Cliff Swimming Pool. We would walk up to Jefferson Blvd. to the show and to shop. We didn't have much money but we had a lot of fun. We went to the state fair by ourselves.. Again, we didn't have much money but we always found something to do. We skated up and down the street. My grandmother took us to the Billy Graham Crusade June 1953. When the call of salvation came, neither one of us hesitated and we asked God to save us both at the age of 12. We followed up with baptism. She was my soul mate. I went several years without contacting her. One day, I was determined to find her and most of the day I was on the phone and finally got in contact with her husband. Somehow I learned he worked for the same company i worked for. My sister and I met with her and her sister when her mom was in a nursing home. We shared many memorable moments together and I know we will reunite one day in Heaven. She is at peace with God. No more pain or tears She was very definitely a true loving friend.
