Mr. Barclay Courtland Keese's Obituary
KEESE, BARCLAY Although he very much wanted to harvest his okra, tomatoes and corn this summer and to sit in his backyard swing planning next Spring’s planting, Barclay Keese died at his home in Richardson, Texas on May 27. He was born in Dallas on April 7, 1949, and was proud to have lived all his life in Richardson, Texas. He was a graduate of Richardson High School and the University of Texas, Dallas. Surviving Barclay are his wife Carol; his three sisters Alexis Spyres, Pam Meyer and her husband, Mike Meyer, Alice Kolb and husband, Tom Kolb; his grandchildren, Caitlyn and Logan Laney, Ephriam Clark, eight nieces and nephews and beloved dog Jasmine. In earlier passages of his life, Barclay lost his mother Robbie, father Alex, brother Donald, and infant nephew Alex. Barclay was a gentle man who took care of everyone. He loved to delight his family and friends with sweet mischief and knowing wit. Thoughtful and wise with a great soul, Barclay understood that life and living is in the simple pleasures of love and friendship, and the beauty and wisdom of nature. Whether coaxing a Plumeria to re-bloom or training a Crossvine or reasoning through life’s ironies, Barclay understood that patience is the best way to nurture growth ‘ in plants and in the people he dearly loved. He loved his yard, a haven filled with flowers and vegetables, birds and butterflies. It is beautiful and his great gift of joy. It was his heaven on earth. Barclay knew the flowers he planted will bloom tomorrow, next week, next year and always. He loved his wife; he loved his family; he delighted in his friends. Barclay will remain in their hearts. Barclay Keese will be remembered at a memorial service on Saturday, May 31 at 3:30 pm at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made in Barclay’s name to St. Michael’s Hospice, 10214 Inwood Road, Dallas, TX 75229.
