Barry Dale Stockmier's Obituary
Barry Dale Stockmier, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017. The Dallas native was born June 24, 1951, to Robert and Faynelle Stockmier, and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1969 and East Texas State University in 1972, where he was a pledge trainer for the Sigma Chi Fraternity.Barry’s many talents and areas of knowledge can best be described as that of a modern day Renaissance Man. He was adventurous and had a great interest in science and astronomy. He was creative, loved the outdoors, possessed a generous nature, and had a great sense of humor.His many talents included being a stained glass artist, jewelry maker, woodworker, NAUI Divemaster, gardener, certified clinical hypnotherapist, ham radio enthusiast, avid reader, and loving husband, stepfather and friend.Before retirement, he was a product representative who called on distributors of industrial tools.He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Stockmier, and her children, Lisa Johnson of Little Elm and Brian Johnson of Lewisville, his 6-year-old Golden Retrievers, Jake and Jesse, and a host of friends who enjoyed his cooking, laughter, and billiards room.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.Service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Memorial Park.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
