Bartie Coyle's Obituary
Bartie Coyle passed away on Thursday, December 31 after 91 years. Bartie was raised in Corpus Christi with his stepmother and younger brother while his dad served in the Pacific during WWII as a Naval Construction Battalion Engineer. Bartie graduated from Corpus Christi Senior High School in 1947 before attending and graduating from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences in 1957. Bartie relocated to Dallas afterwards where he first met Mary. Bartie worked at Texas Instruments for several years before moving over to a technical sales position that provided many of the raw materials and specialized equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. Bartie was married to Mary Coyle for almost 65 years before she passed away in August 2014. Bartie was an aviation enthusiast from his late teens. He obtained his pilot’s license while in his 30’s and owned his own recreational aircraft that he still flew into his 80’s. Bartie was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) for many years and attended over two dozen of their annual air shows in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Bartie experienced a stroke in November 2016 that curtailed him from being able to fly as a pilot any longer. Bartie is survived by a single son Richard Coyle
