Beaux Lucas Borel's Obituary
Borel, Beaux Lucas 8/19/95-8/31/09 Of Van Alstyne, TX, passed away on August 31, 2009, shortly after his 14th Birthday, after a courageous fight with a rare form of cancer. Beaux was an inspiration to his family and many friends throughout his battle with his disease, and will be sorely missed by all. He was one of the “twin towers” for the Van Alstyne Middle School Panther football team, and has been honored by his teammates and foes alike for his attitude and courage. He was just beginning to hit his stride as a teenager, student, and star football player when a rare form of cancer became his final challenge. He was thrilled to be honored by the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, who visited him in his hospital room several times during his illness, was blessed with a wonderful belated birthday and homecoming party recently through the efforts of the Make-a-Wish foundation. The family thanks everyone who Beaux brought together during this difficult time. Beaux leaves behind his parents, Richard and Renae Borel of Van Alstyne, a brother and best friend Luke. He is also survived by his grandfather, Gordon Boren, Klondike, TX, his grandmother, Audrey Borel, of Port Arthur, TX, uncles, David & Leigh Boren, Mark & Donna Boren, David Boren and wife Leigh, Mark Boren and wife Donna, Jacque Borel and Scott Parish, Kenneth Borel and wife Donna; cousins, Michael, Jonathan, Kyle, Sarah, Julia, Melissa, Kevin, Andy, Matthew, Abby, Tim, Amanda, Allison and Michael. Services will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, September 3, 2009 at The First United Methodist Church of Van Alstyne, Rev. D. Glen Blackmon, officiating, with interment to follow in Restland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Alex Ames, Connor Mayes, Luke Borel, Wesley Russell, Tyler Adams, Evan McQuirk, Jonathan Boren, and Kyle Boren. Honorary pallbearers will be the football players of the eighth grade Van Alstyne Panthers. Memorials can be made to Make-a-Wish Foundation at www.wish.org or the charity of your choice. Beaux’s young life was cut short, but his memory will live on in his teammates, classmates, and family forever.
