CHATHAM, BEN “A cheerful heart is good medicine” A memorial service honoring the life of Ben Chatham will be Friday, Feb 3rd at 1:00 pm at Restland Memorial Chapel. Ben passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday morning from Leukemia. Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Louise Chatham. He also leaves behind two sons, Gary Chatham and wife Gaila and Keith Chatham and wife, Shannon, 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Samantha, Katelyn, Caroline, Mary Claire, Oliver and Emily. He also had 3 great grandchildren, Joey, Noah & Madison. Ben was born in Gatesville, Tx. but grew up in Waco. He was a graduate of Texas A&M and served in the military during the middle of his college years. Ben was in the army as part of the 1st Armored Division. Ben, a resident of Plano, was for many years the president of “The Chatham Companies”, a commercial construction firm. He was also one of the founders of “Gamco”, a manufacturer of construction related products. Ben had a love for people and his favorite thing to do was to talk to them. This was especially true of his long time friends. Ben’s light, love and encouragement will be missed.
