Ben K. Howard M.D.'s Obituary
Dr. Ben Howard, beloved father, physician, and devoted follower of Jesus Christ, died on December 1st after a short illness. He was 92, and had enjoyed a long and productive life, respected for his kindness, integrity and generosity. Dr. Howard was born on January 30, 1924 in Pittsburg, Texas and was a member of the second graduating class (1947) of Southwestern Medical School. Married in 1945 to Dorothy Jean McLendon. He is survived by his brother, Joe Ed Howard, three sons, Keith, Robert, and James as well as three grandsons Ryan, James Read, and Charles and one great-grandson, Gus Howard. Dr. Howard served in the Army during WW II, and in the Air Force during the Korean War, after which he maintained a distinguished practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Dallas for many years. An enthusiastic golfer, he was also an inventive woodworker, candy maker and faithful supporter of Believers Chapel and other ministries. A memorial service will be held at Believers Chapel on Wednesday, December 14th, at 2 PM (6420 Churchill Way, Dallas 75230.) Dr. Howard requested that. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Media Ministry of Believers Chapel or to Providence Theological Seminary c/o Believers Chapel at the above address. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
