THANKS EDDIE!!!!!!!!
Thank you all for your support! The service for Popeye yesterday was excellent! I think my grandfather would have loved it and I hope he and my mother got together and looked in on the service! We had a great turn out of family and friends many people that I have not seen in years, the minister did a great job, it was a beautiful day, the Navy's tribute was amazing! Most importantly having all of you there in body or in spirit was awesome! Your support for our family through our loss has been unbelievable! Thank you friends family and the staff at Restland for making Popeye's memorial service so special! I know Nana loved seeing all of you, the beautiful flowers and the kind words. I pray she will be with us for many years to come! Let's all rally behind her. Thanks again, Bart
I have the privilege of working for Ben's grandson's car dealership at Reagor Dykes Ford Lincoln Toyota in Plainview,Tx.I have known and worked with Bart years before now and know from what Bart has shared with me and our team the great work ethic that Popeye instilled in him. What a blessing for Bart to have had Popeye to mentor him on how to carry on the legacy in many areas of life such as doing things the right way, from family, to friendships, to running successful businesses! I never knew his grandfather personally, but on the other hand, I feel like I have and can still feel the presence through Bart of this great man in how we carry out this work ethic in all the areas of our daily living! I am honored to be associated with such a great organization. Thank you Popeye, for your legacy that lives on through your grandson and my friend, Bart. Eddie Ashburn

Our family moved to Moonlight 2 years ago and we fell in love with the immaculate lush green yard, with the beautiful American flag waving in the front. We met Ben as he was outside mowing his yard, shortly after we moved in, and you could always see the joy exuding from him as he worked outside. My husband, a veteran also, enjoyed conversing with him about his military time and his family, whom he loved so much. Our 2 boys (2 & 4) loved watching him on his mower and call him ?Mr. Ben?. Ben was always willing to stop and chat with the boys when we walked by and always gave us a big wave as we drove by. His smile, friendliness, and great love for life are missed on our street. May God wrap his arms of grace around your family and friends during this time. Feeling so blessed we were able to know Ben.
