Mr. Benito Vargas' Obituary
Vargas, Benito born to Agapito Vargas and Maria Garcia in Hidalgo, TX on April 10, 1947. He was the 3rd born of 5 boys: Margarito Vargas, Jose Angel Vargas, Victor Vargas and Alberto Vargas. As a child he did not have the opportunity to receive an education, but that did not stop him from flourishing as a well-rounded businessman. In 1964, he married Simona Marin and moved from Lubbock, TX to Dallas, TX. As an ambitious father he worked hard to provide for his family of ten loving children: Juanita V McClendon, Benito Vargas Jr., Delma Huland, Danny Vargas, Amy Chapman, Susie Edlund, Alberto Vargas, Margo Vargas, Christy Vargas, and Adam Vargas.
He was a self-taught auto mechanic that would diagnose an issue just by listening. This was a skill that he enjoyed passing down to his children. Throughout his life he took pleasure in buying and selling cars of every make and model but was a Chevy man at heart. As time moved on, his children and family grew as grandchildren were born.
He was a loving father and an even more loving grandfather affectionately referred to as "Pappa Chore'" or "Grandpa". Grandfather to Julian McClendon, Clarissa McClendon, Jessica Vargas, Benito Vargas III, Hunter Finley, Madison Huland, Sedalia Huland, Danny Vargas Jr, Taylor Vargas, Angel Vargas, Marrissa Mitchell, Roderick Chapman, Cooper Edlund, Carson Edlund, Cameron Edlund, Carter Edlund, Angelica "Jelly" Vargas, Alexander Vargas, Michael Vargas, Jonathan Vargas, Sariah Vargas, Mason Vargas, Samara Vargas, Reyna Vargas, Triton Vargas, Penelope Vargas. Benito leaves behind a total of 10 children, 26 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren; Laura "Lala", Isabella "Bella", Catalina "Cati", Christian, Natalia "Nati", Kielan, Riella, Ariel, Jada, Benito IV, Elijah, Israel, August, Bentley, Bishop, Hazel, Austin, Judith, Lianna, Alexander Jr "Jeremiah", and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He had an uncanny ability to find humor in life's ups and downs, making every moment brighter. Although he will be deeply missed his family is grateful that he has gone to join his wife, mother, father, brothers, son-in-law and most importantly the Lord. Proverbs 4:11-12: "I will guide you in the way of wisdom and I will lead you in upright paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered, and when you run, you will not stumble."
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 14, 2024, at Restland Memorial Chapel.
