Benjamin Franklin Bowman's Obituary
It is with deep sadness but with wonderful memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Benjamin Franklin Bowman of Chandler, TX on Monday, June 30, 2025 at the age of 90 years old.
Ben F. Bowman was born on August 31, 1934 to Ben H. Bowman and Margaret Marie Ellen (Johnson) in Grayson County, Texas.
Ben married Jo Ann (Breeden) in 1953. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and four sisters, Jan (Tom) Powell, Wanda (James) Buck, Peggy (Bill) Fincher and Barbara (Alvin) Crawford. He is survived by his sister Joyce (Dana) Webb and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ben was a master electrician for many years in the Dallas area. He and Jo Ann then moved to Chandler, Texas. He established the Westside Volunteer Fire Department on lake Palestine and was the fire chief from January 1993 to May 2007.
He enjoyed reading western novels, picking on the guitar and singing, and carving things out of driftwood.
The Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in the Garden of the Cross section of Restland Cemetery.
