Cheryl & family, We were shocked and saddened to hear the news of Lloyd's passing. I pray God comforts you during this difficult time.
There was not a better ambassador with three initials than Lloyd. There is always a lot on tension in the air when major companies merge together such as happened with the UP and the MKT. I remember the first time I met Lloyd … not a bit of tension and what a gentleman. We shared stories from our extended pasts and laughed … seemed like I had known him all my life. And, did anyone ever see him without a smile? I don't care how long he had been on duty or how tired he was, Lloyd always had time to give you a smile and a greeting. I know there's a hole in the heart of those he's left behind, but please know that there are many, many prayer balloons going Heavenward for you to be surrounded with peace. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" – Psalm 116:15
I always enjoyed working with Lloyd on the road and at Arlington. Lloyd and I had spent a lot of long hours together over the years. Back in 2003 we were on a job that went on duty at 3 a.m. at Mesquite. I had never worked in Mesquite so Lloyd had to lead me around like a new hire. Every morning we would have to wait on the carman to give us an air test before departing to Ft Worth. During this wait we would pass the time by Lloyd telling railroad stories, and Lloyd had some dandy ones. I remember Lloyd telling me how he met his wife Cheryl. I may get this wrong, but I believe he said she was the night manager at the Whataburger where his yard crew took coffee breaks. We will all miss Lloyd. God Bless.
Lloyd was such a good man. I will always remember his kind and gentle smile. My heart goes out to all his family. He will be missed.

Lloyd Clark was as fine a man as I have ever had the pleasure to know. Always looking out for others ahead of himself. My condolences to his family, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Our Brotherhood lost a great one. Warren Dent Vice General Chairman Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen
I first met Lloyd when we started the Dallas I Team in april of 2008. Lloyd volunteered to be our secretary and it did not take me long to realize that we had a special person, one who puts his whole heart and mind into something that he believes in. It was obvious that his talent belonged somewhere where he could put his talents and drive to better use. He became a Coordinator for the Total Safety Culture program the company had endorsed. Lloyd was doing a great job making railroad life better for the younger men it is a shame the program was brought to a sudden halt. I will always remember Lloyd for his dedication, drive but most of all his compassion and sincerity. What a great guy, for everyone who has ever met him, you are a better person for it. May God comfort the family. Larry and Ann Fincher.
Lloyd was alway's so friendly, and willing to help anybody. We'll miss him very much.
Lloyd was a good man. Always friendly and kind to others. He will be missed by many.
I had the pleasure of working on the Board of Directors with this outstanding man. His devotion and enthusiasm showed everytime he was in our presence. His vivid race team reports were always a highlight of the agenda of the North Texas Mustang Club. After his descriptions of how his team did at the track, it was very clear that he was at home when at the track. The North Texas Mustang club has lost a true friend and he will be missed for years to come. His enthusiasm will always be what I remember this great man by. Mark Patrick Powell
