Benjamin Bernhardt Mettler Jr's Obituary
Benjamin Bernhardt Mettler, Jr. of Frisco, Texas was born on November 8, 1927 in Dallas, Texas to Benjamin Mettler Sr. and Emelie Herzfeld. Benjamin passed away on July 16, 2021 at the age of 93. He will always be remembered for his roles as a beloved father, grandfather, father-in-law, private investigator, serving his country, and never meeting a stranger.
He attended Wentworth Military Academy where he was a member of the Wrestling Squad. He served in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate and received a letter from President Harry Truman after WWII ended. He attended the University of Texas where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lillian. He enjoyed spending time with his son Michael, his grandsons Matthew and Mark, and daughter-in-law Caron. He especially liked reading detective novels, watching football, and eating Spring Creek BBQ.
There will be a celebration of his life on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Abbey Chapel at the Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
