Bennie Bell Morrison's Obituary
Bennie Bell Morrison, a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and doting great-grandmother, passed away peacefully from natural causes in her home at Windsor Senior Living. She was 85. Bennie was born in Crystal City, Missouri in 1933 to Stanley and Daisy Robertson. The hardships of being born during the height of the Great Depression were only made worse by the untimely passing of her father at age 3. Her family’s resiliency and faith were greatly tested but not broken – Bennie graduated from Crystal City High School with honors, afterward attending Washington University in St. Louis. In 1954 she married Phillip Schuch, moving to the Dallas area in 1959 where she continued to reside until death. Following a divorce in 1963 she was left to raise her 3 young children on her own, often working multiple jobs to make ends meet. The Lord used these difficult times to bring her to closer to Him; she became a faithful attender of Oates Drive Baptist Church, using her talented voice to serve her church and bring joy to many, as well as inspiring her 3 children to faith as well. In 1973 she joined Goodman Factors in Dallas in an administrative capacity, from which she retired in 2003 after 31 years of loyal service. Bennie suffered a significant stroke in 2008, from which she survived but was left largely disabled. Despite her disability she continued to be a source of great encouragement, grace, humility and love to her family, friends, and fellow residents. Her greatest joys in life were music and singing, attending church on Sundays, and just being in the presence of her family and friends. Her engaging spirit, her graceful smile, and servant’s heart will be sorely missed. Bennie is survived by her three adult children, daughter Robin Fancher, son Bret (spouse Karen) Schuch, and daughter Julie Del Toro, as well as 5 granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 4th at Fellowship Bible Church Dallas, 9330 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, Texas. A private burial will follow later at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery in Dallas. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Care Fund of Fellowship Bible Church, who were faithful and generous in providers of visitation, love, and service to Bennie during her time of infirmness. The funeral arrangements for Ms. Bennie Morrison have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
