Benny Joe Clement's Obituary
Benny Joe Clement, age 89 of Pottsboro, Texas passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024.
Benny was born on April 11, 1934 in Hackleburg, Alabama, the son of Joel Franklin Clement and Gladys Cornelia Clement. In 1947, Benny met his wife Jarita in Winfield, Alabama. They married in 1953 and went on to have 3 boys, Ronnie, Joel and Terry. After graduation from Winfield High School in 1952 he moved Pontiac, Michigan for a year and then moved back to Winfield, Alabama to attend trade school.
He moved to Dallas, Texas and worked many years as an electrician before starting his own electrical contracting business. In 1997, Benny retired living on Lake Tawakoni. He loved traveling in his RV and made many trips to Alaska spending his summers there.
Benny was predeceased by his wife, Jarita Louise (Henderson) Clement and sons Joel and Ronald (Ronnie) Clement and grandson Shaun Clement.
He is survived by his brother, Tommy Franklin Clement and wife Fran of Montgomery, Alabama; son, Terry Clement and wife Darie of Pottsboro, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren who called him Papa: Stephanie, Steven, Stacie, Kevin and Julie and 14 great grandchildren.
The family request visitation hours be observed on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Restland Funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel. Burial will follow.
