Bernadette Bernice Strine's Obituary
Bernadette Bernice Strine, loving called “Bernie”, was born March 28, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She left this earth on August 5, 2015 after a long battle of cancer. She left behind many friends and family members that she loved and cherished. Bernie was a long time member of Valwood Park Baptist Church where she was a great servant of the Lord caring for many children and doing many different things for the church. Even with many difficult challenges with Cerebral Palsy she faced, she was faithful to the Lord. Many said she was a social butterfly and was always willing to go and do anything at anytime. In later years, she had a day care business in her home, and had many friends and was very social with everyone sharing the Lord. When she became sick with breast cancer, she fought very hard and thought she was cancer free. When she became sick again with cancer, it overtook her entire body. She finally lost the battle and now lives on the streets of gold, walking hand in hand with her Lord. Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Willmot Strine, Jr., and her sister Jeannine Mary Keberle. She is survived by her son Dennis Strine and his wife Debi; daughter Ruth and her husband Travis Gilbreath; daughter Rebecca Strine and partner Sheila; niece Connie and husband Jess Coker; and nephew Tommy Prock and his wife Timna. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses at Sandy Lake Rehab and at Hospice Plus for the tender way in which they cared for Bernadette. Family will receive friends on August the 9, 2015 from 2-4pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas Texas 75243. Funeral service will be held on August 10, 2015 at 1:00pm Valwood Park Baptist Church, 2727 Valwood Parkway, Farmers Branch Texas 75234. Interment immediately following the service at Restland Memorial Park. May the memory of Bernie be a blessing to everyone who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
