Bernice Victoria Gulledge's Obituary
GULLEDGE, BERNICE 1921-2007 Bernice Gulledge passed away Tuesday, September 25th, five days after celebrating her 86th birthday. Cause of death, advanced liver cancer. Bern was born in Memphis, Tennessee, raised in Nashville and Jackson, Mississippi. Married Gill Gulledge, March 9th, 1943. Lived in Dallas from 1946 until her death. She is survived by her younger sister and husband Betty and John Wilkinson, along with niece Patti Harrison Wrenn, all of Oxford, Mississippi, three sons and wives, Allen and Mary, Gary and Patricia and Larry and Irene Gulledge, nine grandchildren, at last count eleven great grandchildren with at least one more in production as well as the first great-great grandchild, also ‘under construction.’. Bern lived in Casa Linda for 59 years before moving to Juliette Fowler Christian Apartments in 2005. The family appreciates the doctors and staff at Doctor’s Hospital, Pearl Nordan Care Center and Faith Hospice who cared for her around the clock this past month. Also thanks to Doctors Jennifer Freeman and Elizabeth Palacios who kept our Mom going these last two decades. A special thanks to her very good friend and caregiver Zaida Arbiza and to the ladies at Fowler Independent Living who cared so very much about her.
