Paine, Bernice's Obituary
Bernice Paine, 85, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by her family in Mesquite, Texas. She was born on May 30, 1940, in Star, Mississippi. The tenth child of a family of twelve, Bernice was a beacon of unconditional love and kindness, always showing the love of Christ to everyone she met. Her faith and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband, John A. Case Sr. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gaines Lee Paine, and her children: John A. Case Jr., Malcolm D. Case, and her spiritual daughter, Tina Eaton. She was a proud grandmother to Stephanie L. Lawson, Tanis J. Case, Johnathan E. B. Case, Brian Paine and a cherished great-grandmother to Braxton Case, Trystan Case, Anastasia Case, Serenity Lawson, and Kendra Lawson. She is also survived by her sister, Francis Earlean Lewis, and her brothers, Talmadge McGee and Roy McGee.
A celebration of Bernice’s life will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Cemetery, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX.
