Bessie Sue Low's Obituary
Low, Sue Paddack, born on April 22, 1916 at Spring Hill, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2014. She attended Texas State College for Women and North Texas University in Denton, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Sacred Music from Baptist Bible Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas (now Arlington Baptist College), as well as a certificate of Cosmetology from the University School of Cosmetology, Dallas Texas. Her many interests included gardening and flowers. She earned her judging certificate from the Fort Worth Council of Nationally Accredited Flower Show Judges. Additionally she earned certificates in art, woodcarving, photography, lapidary and flower arranging. She was the author of a book of poems, Raindrops. She served as a church organist for over 35 years and taught music for 28 years. Sue accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was fourteen years old. Her passion in life was sharing Jesus with everyone she could. She served as a chaplain at Lew Sterrett jail in Dallas. Hundreds of men were won to the Lord through her ministry, which won her recognition as the North American Mission Board Volunteer of the year for 1998-1999. She was honored to be asked to speak at the Baptist General Convention of Texas in 1998. She was also a speaker at the Southern Baptist Convention in New Orleans in 2001. Sue wants everyone to know that accepting Christ as Savior is the most important decision that anyone will ever make. If there are those here who have never made that choice, she would say to you, “Do it now. Do not delay. Christ is able to meet all the needs of your life. Ask Him to come into your heart today and save you from your sins.” Sue married Asa E. Low September 10, 1941 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ione Bertrand in Vickery, Texas. Sue was a member of Hampton Road Baptist Church in Desoto, Texas. She is survived by two sons, Asa E. Low Jr. of Dallas, Texas and Charles Lynn Low of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, Charles Lynn Low Jr. (Tami), Susan Low Stewart (Joe), Ambre Low Alston (Kelly), Asa E Low III (Jennifer), Aaron David Low (Veronica) and Andrew Michael Low (Brandy) and 11 great grandchildren, Sophia, Benjamin and Samuel Low, Asher and Harper Low, Nathan Alston, Kaitlyn and Asa IV Low, Julianna and Nadia Low, and Symphony Low. Sue was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Asa E. Low Sr.; father and mother, Roscoe Conklin and Mary Amanthis Smith Paddack; three brothers , Roscoe Sterling Paddack, Lynn Allen Paddack, John Wendell Paddack, and four sisters, Lala Dale Nuckels, Doris Ione Bertrand, Mary Irma Hines, and Frances Mabel Rowe. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:30PM on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Officiating is Sue’s grandson, Rev. Charles Lynn Low Jr. of Yorktown, New York.
