Bette Hefley Fahler's Obituary
Bette Hefley Fahler, 85, of Richardson, Texas died July 30, 2017 in McKinney, Texas of natural causes. She was born May 26, 1932 to A.D. Hefley and Mildred Hailey Hefley in McAlester, Oklahoma. Bette married Darrell Dean Fahler on September 12, 1953 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Born and raised in McAlester, Oklahoma, Bette lived the largest portion of her life in Richardson, Texas, where she was an educator and children’s librarian for more than thirty years. She was a member of Eastern Star. Both she and her husband were much loved by the community and enjoyed entertaining and celebrating the birthdays of close friends and family. Her final days were spent at Baybrooke Rehab Facility under hospice care. She passed peacefully in her sleep and will be missed by many. Bette is preceded in death by parents, A.D. Hefley and Mildred Hailey Hefley; sister, Dorothy Hefley Carmody and brother, Darrell Hefley. Bette is survived by her husband, Darrell Fahler; daughter, Kimberly Fahler Silva, McKinney, TX; son, Dr. Jeffrey Fahler, DDS, Buffalo, TX; grandsons, Daniel, Darrell and Jacob; granddaughter, Kelsey; great grandson, Elijah and great granddaughter, Lillian. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Abbey Chapel.
