Bette Kay Timberlake's Obituary
Bette Kay Timberlake, age 81, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. She was born to Mr. George Carnahan and Ms. Elizabeth Carnahan on June 30, 1940, in Wichita, Kansas. Bette leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Bette "Mimi" graduated from Monticello Prep School in Godley, IL. In 1963, she graduated from the University of Oklahoma with BA in Liberal Arts with honors. While at OU, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority where she served as President and Treasurer. The year that she was President, the Oklahoma Alpha Pi Phi chapter won the Balfour Cup which is awarded to the top Pi Phi chapter in the nation. She met Bob while she attended OU, and they married August 24, 1963 in Wichita, KS. Shortly, thereafter, they moved to Dallas, TX.
Bette was dedicated to making a loving home for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to those who knew her. Additionally, she was very active member of the community. She was one of the co-founders of Wadley Guild which is a non profit organization promoting research for cancer and Leukemia in Dallas. She volunteered in the Pi Beta Phi alumni organization. She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church where she volunteered in numerous children's programs. Further, she volunteered in many capacities at Richardson Independent School District and was Treasurer of the PTA. Lastly, she was a member of Northwood Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Gilbert Carnahan, her father G. Ray Carnahan and her brother George Carnahan.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert W. "Bob" Timberlake, son R. Clayton Timberlake(wife Allison), daughter Shannon Timberlake(husband Ken Fisher), Clayton's children Gemma & Grayson, Shannon's children Justin & Caroline Dodd , brother John Carnahan
A Memorial Service for Bette Kay Timberlake will be Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
