Bettie Joe Roden FairchildJune 9, 1927 – December 20, 2018Bettie always said you could feel the wind made by the angel’s wings when they came to take you home to heaven and that the number of angels would be so large it would feel like a wind storm. She felt that wind storm Thursday, December 20th when she went to live with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Bettie was born at home to Lonnie Roden and Mariee Beyrle in Sweetwater, Texas. She had three older sisters Charlene Franklin, who passed away at 18 months, Billie Beyrl, and Jonnie Lou; to say her father wanted a boy is obvious yet he loved his daughters deeply.As a young woman she modeled for Nieman Marcus, Bergdolf Goodman and other high end department stores plus she was selected “Miss Alice Dallas.” Bettie was also a talented artist and sculptor. She had many purchase her work. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Fairfax Hall in Waynesboro, Virginia and SMU.She married Leo Anthony Fairchild having sons Mark Anthony, Patrick L., and daughter Carol Michael. Her love for children was unconditional and unsurpassed.She is survived by Mark and Marsha Fairchild of Rockport, Texas and her grandchildren Eddie Fairchild, Heather and Jubal Reed, Jennifer and Robert Thompson, and Allison and George Williford all of Midland, TX. Bettie’s great grandchildren are Jordan, Seth, Grace and Joshua Reed of Midland, TX; Robert (Bobby) and his wife Alexis, Emma, and Benjamin Thompson of Midland, TX; and Mark David Williford of Midland, TX:Patrick and Martha Fairchild of Midland, TX and her grandchildren Brian and Nicole Fairchild and Jenni Brooke and Joshua Leeper of Midland, TX; Bettie’s great grandchildren Weston, Evan and Julianne Fairchild of Midland, TX and Kiersten, Kiptyn, Anna-Claire and Anabelle Leeper of Midland, TX;Carol Fairchild Davis and her daughter Cody Davis of Coppell, TX.She also loves nieces and nephew: Nancy Hennen, Deborah Turrentine, Dana Campbell, and Norman NelsonThe Davis family would like to send their love and thanks to Debbie Turrentine for all she did for mother, as well as Brad Jones, MD., Abby, Taylor and Becky.Services will be held at 9:00 A.M. in the Wildwood Chapel in Restland Cemetery, Dallas with a graveside service held Sunday, December 30th at 1:00 P.M. where Bettie will be buried with her son-in-law Barry Davis and grandchildren, at Cook Walden Capital Parks in Pflugerville.Funeral arrangements for Ms. Bettie Joe Fairchild have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave., at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243, and can be reached at (972) 238-7111.
