Bettie Faye Hill's Obituary
Longtime Dallas resident Bettie Hill, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 19, 2015, with her family by her side. Bettie was born in Clearwater, Florida on December 4, 1928. Bettie is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James Hill and her parents. She is survived by her son Brad his wife Laura ; son, Bart; four grandchildren Krista, Kiley, Hunter, and Samantha; and great grand- daughter Prestyn Allen. Bettie grew up in Clearwater Florida where she graduated from high school and pursued a successful modeling career after graduation, appearing on a number of bill- boards along the gulf states. Bettie enjoyed playing all sports growing up which included playing golf and baseball. She loved to relive her baseball playing days where she spoke of traveling to Cuba to play as well as playing a season with the All American Girls Baseball Professional league which played in World War II. She later went to work in the Petroleum industry transferring to Houston where she met and married her husband and they eventually moved to Dallas where they were married for 60 years. In 1989 Bettie and her husband Dr. James Hill started a peer assistance program for area dentist/doctors and other professionals who struggled with alcohol and substance dependency. They both were accredited for helping countless of professionals over the years. Bettie loved being with her family and animals and most of all spoiling her grandchildren. Bettie will be most remembered for her kind and energetic spirit and compassion for all who never met a stranger. Funeral Service for Bettie will take place at 2:30 pm on Monday, August 24, 2015 at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
