Betty Bartkus' Obituary
Bartkus, Betty Lou, age 87, of Missouri City, Texas passed away peacefully on 8/15/2011 at Methodist Hospital Sugar Land, TX. She was born on 10/11/1923 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to her parents, Donald Regnier Welty and Muriel Strong Welty.Betty was the youngest of two. She married Toney Bartkus in Bartlesville, Ok on 02/14/1947. They had two children. She attended Kansas University studying Art. She was a longtime resident of Dallas, Texas for 58 years. Betty was a member of Northway Christian Church, Dallas, TX. She enjoyed sewing, reading, children, puppies, kittens, and helping and visiting with everyone. She is survived by her daughter, Trudy Ellen Bartkus Tarner, Trudy’s husband Scott Tarner of Missouri City, TX, her son James Welty Bartkus, of Waxahachie, Tx, and three grandsons, Keff James Bartkus, Scott Anthony Tarner, Samuel Jacob Tarner and three great grandsons, Keagan Bartkus, Jack Bartkus and Tristan Kai Bartkus. She was predeceased in death by her parents, Donald Regnier Welty, Muriel Strong Welty and her husband of fifty nine years, Toney Bartkus, her brother, Donald Regnier Welty, Jr, and step parents, John P. Sonday and Gertrude McNabb Welty Sonday.Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service for Betty at 12:30 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Wildwood Chapel at Restland 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX. Burial will follow in The Court of Reflections next to her husband, Toney Bartkus .In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
