Betty Lee Bethune's Obituary
Bethune, Betty Lee Betty Bethune was born February 20, 1924 in Dallas, Texas She was called to be with her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2012 after a wonderful life with her husband, children, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her six siblings, Francis, Ed, Mary, Mickey, Bob and Roy. Her surviving loving family are her husband Spencer, sons Bill and Mike, Daughters in law: Jeri & Valarie; grandchildren: Brad and his fiance Kim, Jonathan and his wife Jennifer, Alex and his wife Naomi, Jennifer Sparks and her husband Josh, and Amanda Jackson and her husband Beau. She is also survived by her beautiful great grandchildren: Chloe, Braleigh, Lyric, Dylan, McKenna, Richard and Sarah with two more on the way, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1941 and completed Draughon’s Business College shortly thereafter. Betty served her deep commitment to Christ in “doing” as a member of the Choir, as well as her responsibilities as the church secretary for many years at Pleasant Mound and Pleasant Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas, and in her near retirement years at Immanuel Baptist Church in Paris, Texas near their new “Ranch Home” in Direct, Texas. After 15 years at the “Ranch” they moved to be closer to family at their home in Plano. There they joined Hunter’s Glen Baptist Church where they were members of the Sonshine class and made many more new friends. Thanks to all those who participated in her final care at Garnet Hill Retirement Home and the Heart to Heart attendants by her side. Visitation will be held between 5 and 7 on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Restland Funeral Home. Officiated by Ed Fleming, Senior Pastor at Hunters Glen Baptist Church in Plano. Services will be at 3:30PM on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Proverbs 31: 10 “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
