Betty Rae Boatwright of Dallas, Texas, died on April 9, 2019. Betty was born in Dallas, Texas on June 12, 1935 to Samuel and Lillian Shook.Betty was married to R. Howard Boatwright on August 28, 1958, in Dallas, Texas. Betty graduated from Texas Women’s University in 1957, and worked at the Cotton Exchange from 1957 until 1963. Betty was an avid reader, lover of musical theater, movies, and sports, and she was the Texas Rangers biggest fan.Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Boatwright, her sister, Mary Frances, and her parents. Betty is survived by her daughter, Kelly Anne Groat; son-in-law, Dennis Groat, Jr.; son, Timothy Ray Boatwright; grandchildren, Daniel Groat, and Daniel’s wife Ericka, Samuel Groat, and Caroline Groat; three great grandsons, Brayden Thompson, Bradley Groat, and Benjamin Groat.The funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at the Wildwood Chapel with a visitation one hour prior.
