Ms. Betty Suzanne Ondrusek Clifton's Obituary
Betty Suzanne Ondrusek Clifton, affectionately known as Suzanne, 84, passed away on June 3, 2024 in Rowlett, TX. A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at the Hayes Center at Lavon Drive Baptist Church in Garland on June 7. The viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas immediately following the funeral.
Born on July 2, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Suzanne was the daughter of Edwin and Margaret Stubbs. Although part of her early life was spent in Alabama, her family eventually moved to Texas where she went to school and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas. Suzanne married Bob Ondrusek in1957, and they made their home in Dallas where they raised their children. While their children were young, Suzanne enjoyed leading Backyard Bible Clubs during the summer. One of the joys in her life was to see children accept Christ. One of her favorite Bible verses was John 3:16, and she made sure to teach it to each of the children. She also had the joy to lead her four children and her younger brother, Harry, to Christ. Later in life, Suzanne married Doy Clifton in 1992 and they lived in Rowlett. Doy preceded her in death on November 21, 2000.
Surviving Suzanne are her children, Jim Ondrusek (Cathey), Tim Ondrusek, Mindy Houston and Mike Ondrusek (Dena) and her two brothers, Tom Stubbs (Vicki) and Harry Stubbs (Sheila), five grandchildren, Chad Ondrusek (Sheila), Nathan Ondrusek (Yesenia), Chelsey Sauer (Brandon), Shelbey Doty (Brad), Josh Brickey, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by niece, Nancy Gray and nephews Matt Stubbs, Jonathan Stubbs, and Andrew Stubbs.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, husband Doy, and niece Abby Stubbs.
