In 1990, Betty graduated from East Texas State University with a B.S. degree, majoring in Education. This was the achievement of her lifetime of which she was most proud. She was elected to Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society.
Her teaching career was in the field of Special Education and later in English. She taught primarily in the Dallas Independent School District from which she officially retired. After retirement, she did substitute teaching in the Garland Independent School District for a few years.
In 2014, she and Kay moved to the Sun City Texas active retirement community in Georgetown, Texas, where Betty was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.
Betty was a funny, quirky, intelligent, creative, and sometimes fiery person to which many can attest. She had a passion for teaching and also loved music, dancing, reading and crossword puzzles.
