Betty Doris Dillon Rhodes' Obituary
Betty Doris Dillon Rhodes, 83, of Dallas, Texas passed away July 21, 2011 in Houston, Texas. Born June 6, 1928 to Robert and Carmen Dillon in Timpson, Texas, Betty was the youngest of 10 brothers and sisters. Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Christopher Columbus Rhodes, Jr., her brother Vernon, sisters, Louise, Sybil, Evelyn, Onie Mae and Blanche. Betty is survived by her sisters Vivian and Hazel and her brother Joe, daughter Linda Kaye Franklin and husband Don, daughter Mary Alice Doyal, grandchildren Christopher “Chris” Peterson and wife Mary, Philip Doyal, Nicole “Niki” Peterson, Kimberly “Kim” Doyal and husband Eddie, Kelly Doyal and fiance Marquand, and great grandchildren Katherine “Katie,” Lindley, Emerson, and Mina. Betty retired from Bank of America after serving in many valued capacities for 20 years. She became “Mom” to many while residing at The Bluffs for 33 years; befriending many far from home, cooking meals, cakes and cookies for those that would stop by to check on her. Her advice was sound and free – And she never met a stranger. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM
