Garfield, Betty Irene Williams ~ 83, formerly of Dallas, Texas, passed away February 11, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Betty was born September 17, 1927 in Holdenville, Oklahoma, to John T. and Grace (Mays) Williams. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col (Retired, US Army) Warren Garfield. Betty enjoyed her life as a career Army wife. With their children, they lived in several locales both foreign an domestic. Her travels took her to many countries in Europe, China, Japan, Egypt, and throughout the US. She loved to read and enjoyed going to the beach. Betty is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Linda G. Scoggins and Rob, Carrollton, Texas, Cathy Franz and bob, Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cindy Hightower and Kit, Houston, Texas. Grandchildren, Steve Hightower and wife Melissa, Scott Hightower, Chase Hightower, and Zack Kranz. One great-granddaughter, Chelsea Hightower. Also survived by brother, John R. Williams, Topeka, Kansas. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, contribute to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or Shrine Hospitals for Children.
