Betty and I shared many wonderful times together both at her trailer on Sandy Lake Road and at "Captain's Corner" at the Holiday Inn. She and I shared a Birthday drink with each other every year; Betty's on the 21st and mine the 18th. We lost contact the last couple of years. We always exchanged Christmas cards and mine were returned the last couple of years and I didn't receive hers. I just learned a little while ago about her passing. I truly miss my special friend. She really loved you, Dawn.

I met Betty Heatly at Fitz & Floyd in 1984 and just a week before she passed, we were still in phone contact with one another. I LOVED THIS WOMAN!!! She was fun, witty, compassionate, full of empathy, always wanted to bring people together. She never forgot my kids' and grandkids' birth dates — which was totally amazing. I MISS TALKING WITH HER TERRIBLY!!
