Betty Ann McHenry Hulcy's Obituary
HULCY, BETTY ANN MCHENRY beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother, Betty Ann McHenry Hulcy, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at the age of 97. Mrs. Hulcy was born in Fairfield, Illinois, on March 15, 1917. Mrs. Hulcy’s parents, Clarence and Bertha McHenry settled in Dallas where they raised Mrs. Hulcy and her sister. Mrs. Hulcy attended Sunset High School and Ward-Belmont finishing school in Tennessee. Mrs. Hulcy then married Louis Bonner Hulcy, and devoted herself to her home and family. A wonderful homemaker, a superb gardener, and an excellent golfer, Mrs. Hulcy also enjoyed travelling and watching baseball. This gentle woman and animal-lover never failed to exhibit a grace, dignity, patience, and kindness that was a lesson to us all. She was quick with a smile, laugh, and words of encouragement. She will be missed by all who had the great fortune to know her. Mrs. Hulcy was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Bonner Hulcy, Sr., and sister, Billie Park. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Lou Hulcy; son, Louis Bonner Hulcy, Jr.; four granddaughters, Holly Munin, Allison Palmer, Beth Hulcy, and Jennifer Whatley; eight great-grandchildren; a niece and nephews. Mrs. Hulcy’s graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Restland Memorial Park.
