Betty Bass Moore's Obituary
MOORE, BETTY BASS went to be with her heavenly father on October 3, 2012. She was surrounded by her family who loved her beyond measure. She spent her entire life preparing for this day by teaching everyone that she met how to be a better person and how to live a Christ – filled life. Everyone she touched has been blessed by her compassion, love, determination, tenderness and humor. She filled her family with so much joy and her light will forever shine brightly in our lives. She fought a long hard battle. She never gave up and was always determined to survive. She never complained and never wanted anyone to know how sick she was or how badly she felt – Betty showed us how to be warriors. She is survived by her husband John, daughters Lainey and Katie who she absolutely lived for and adored, her parents Don and Connie Bass, sisters Becky Escobar and husband Joe, Cathy Bass Latta and husband Jim, Debby Bass and partner Patty Renfro, nieces and nephews Meredith, Joseph, Anna, Abraham, Jesse, Ben, Shorr and Colton. She is also survived by Aunt Beth, Suzanne and many other loving cousins. She also leaves behind her Highlander family whom she dearly cherished. She loved teaching PE to the kids but more importantly she loved teaching them how to be good sports, how to do your best and be satisfied with the effort and to be supportive of one another. She actually taught everyone those lessons. She was looking forward to returning to school to re-join all those she loved there and was disappointed when she was not able to start the new school year. The family wishes to thank the Highlander Family and all of her friends for the meals, gift cards, flowers, love, support and prayers over the last three years. We also want to thank the folks at Texas Oncology for everything they did for Betty, from treatments to prayers to loving touches. Also, thanks to the folks with VNA who helped us transition from hospital to home – you touched our hearts. Visitation will be Friday October 5, 2012 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas. Service will be Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM at North Highlands Bible Church on Church Road in Dallas. Burial will follow immediately at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martin’s Mill, Texas.
