Betty White Nyenhuis' Obituary
Betty White Nyenhuis, age 92 of Dallas, Texas joined her heavenly Father on Saturday December 14, 2019. She was born to the late Herbert and Lorene Watson on February 25, 1927 and married the love of her life Bill Nyenhuis in 1950, happily married for 66 years.Betty was an active student at Pleasant Grove H.S., where she was a cheerleader, on the women’s basketball team and yearbook staff, graduating in 1945. Later she volunteered with the American Heart Association and was a longtime member of the White Rock Athletic Club.Betty and Bill were avid members of the SMU Mustang Club, with season tickets to football games, as well and Men’s and Women’s Basketball for many years. They also enjoyed season tickets to Dallas Cowboy games during the Landry era. She was a homemaker, as well as an administrative assistant, who retired from her work family at Prudential Life Insurance.Betty’s passion and delight was her family, dear friends and her church. She was an active member at East Dallas Christian Church and the Fellowship class.She is survived by her children Brenda Harwell and Brian Nyenhuis, extended family and loving friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday December 21, 2019 at the East Dallas Christian Church Chapel. The family wishes to thank all of those who have cared for her and extended emotional support throughout her life and especially during her final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the East Dallas Christian Church, 629 N. Peak Street, Dallas, TX 75246.
